Shillong, Nov 30: After the issuance of travel advisory to VIPs on their movement in Garo Hills, Meghalaya Governor RS Mooshahary and Chief Minister Dr Mukul M Sangma have now been placed under Z – category security ring.
Similarly, National People’s Party (NPP) leader Purno A Sangma, Opposition leader Conrad Sangma, former deputy chief Minister Deborah Marak, Community & Rural Development Minister Salseng A Sangma and some other politicians belonging to Garo hills also figure in the list prepared by the police.
SHILLONG, Nov 30: Over 500 sacks of wet sugar were Friday found lying at the go-down of Food Corporation of India (FCI) at Mawlai at an inspection conducted by the Civil Society Women’s Organization (CSWO), even as the organization threatened to take up the matter with the CBI.
The inspection has been conducted following several complaints lodged by the wholesalers and beneficiaries against the Food Corporation of India (FCI) for supplying rotten food items to the consumers.
New Delhi, Nov 30 (IANS): Inder Kumar Gujral, who was India's prime minister for 11 months in 1997-98, died in a Gurgaon hospital Friday, his family said. He was 93.
Gujral earlier served as the external affairs minister in two non-Congress governments, serving under prime ministers V.P. Singh and H.D. Deve Gowda.

Phalsting Pangniang from Rambrai Jyrngam, Witting Mawsor from Mawshynrut, Rangsyndor Syiem from Ranikor, Matsing Nongrum from Sohra, Pascal Lyngkhoi from Nongpoh and Dr. Fenela Lyngdoh Nonglait from Mawthadraishan.
SHILLONG, Nov 30: With elections close to the heel, newly appointed state Director General of Police Kulbir Kishan fray said that police’s top priority will be in dealing and tackling the law and order problem including ‘insurgency’ to ensure the upcoming election free from any interruption.
Kulbir Kishan, a 1976 batch Assam-Meghalaya IPS officer Friday assumed office after taking over charge from outgoing officiating DGP Rajiv Mehta after former DGP N Ramachandran retirement last month.
