SHILLONG, Mar. 09:
The city police have arrested one Umesh Singh for duping students and job seekers of the city.
Singh was recently arrested from Safdarjung Market in New Delhi by a team of the Meghalaya Police. According to the police, the culprit has his office at India Habitat Centre in Hauz Khas area.
According to Vivek Syiem DSP (Crime), “Umesh charged Rs 70,000-Rs one lakh from job seekers with the promise to provide them jobs abroad.”
“Singh was able to hoodwink a good number of people on the pretext of giving these unsuspecting people jobs,” Syiem said. 
According to the police, they acted after an FIR was filed against Singh by people who duped by the man.
